Grand Final Week

Amy Schulz

Well it all started on Monday night with the Brownlow, I was hoping for Trent Cotchin to get up. But I must say Jobe was a deserving winner. My best dressed of the night went to Amy Schulz, she was the only one to mix it up and take a risk! Looking beautiful and modern while doing so.

Steph & I with the Premiership Cup

Tuesday night lead me, through work, at the AFL Coaches Awards. It was a very well run night at Crown with John Longmire taking out the honers of Coach of the year. I managed to get my hands on the 2012 Premership Cup, I think that is as close as I will get for a while being a Richmond supporter!

Players Review

Thursday night festivities for the Grand Final is all about The Footy Show Grand Final at Rod Laver, again for 'work purposes,' attendance was due. It was a really fun night & we had great seats. Would have liked to see a little less clothing for the players review... David Rodan and Campbell Brown both put on a great performance.

Amelia & I at the Reach Ladies Lunch

Friday was the Reach Grand Final Eve Ladies Lunch, we did not let the weather dampen our spirits! My inspiring sister spoke at the lunch which was full of laughs, ladies & champagne. A great day/night for a fantastic cause.

The Emmys

I must say the fashion at the Emmy awards was a little disappointing, Rachel Bilson definitely should have been there for her work in 'Heart of Dixie.' a) To be recognised as it is such a good show! b) She definitely would have lifted the fashion stakes. I did love all the colour & sparkles. Below is who I thought was dressed well and where I have found some similar items to wear on your own red carpet.

Ginnifer Goodwin

Not only was Ginnifer Goodwin, in my opinion, in one of the best shows of the year 'Once upon a time' but she was by far the best dressed in Monique Lhillier & my favourite shoes of the season by Christian Louboutin. I am dying to buy these similar ones.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke, Mother of the Dragons on Game of Thrones, Chanel wearing babe on the red carpet! There is not a fault in this outfit. Am loving the mirror print, which Josh Goot has done so well in his dresses this season.

Leslie Mann

I love the yellow colour of the skirt, the floral beaded top and she has accessorised perfectly. The dress by Naeem Kahn could be used for day wear inspiration with this Alice McCall dress and these earrings on shopbop.

Ariel Winter

This dress is amazing because of its juxtaposition of structure and soft feminine print. The 'mullet' only adds to it I think! It reminded me of this Ellery dress.

Sharing Feasts

Below are the new restaurants/cafes I tried this week.  Incase you are wondering I also went to the gym a few times!

Friday night dinner with a friend lead us to The Sharing House, a place that had been on 'the list' for awhile. A good choice by both of us, as it was a fantastic meal. Fleshy fish fingers wrapped in sour dough placed in newspaper, chickpea fries, duck L'orange which was perfectly cooked and sweet. The dessert was the real reason we were there, mini ice-creams with 6 different flavours & peanut butter parfait topped off an excellent meal.

Subi Q is a small new Korean/Japanese BBQ restaurant on Malvern Road, Prahran. We thought the place was empty, was lead out to the back room which had an in ground fish tank!! I was hooked. Once we crossed the bridge and sat down we had a great sizzling meal. Recommend the scotch fillet.

While only being open about 2 weeks it is easy to see why Oscar Cooper was full. This was the best breakfast I have had in quite a long time. Perfect chai latte, great combination in 'Oscar's benedict' and fresh watermelon juice for $5! It helped that the Melbourne sun was peaking through while we ate on picturesque Greville street.

Great Beast!

I tottered along to the movies to see Beasts of the Southern Wild without much expectations of what I was about to watch. So I wasn't disappointed! I was taken to another world of beautiful imagery and a storey different to any other about a girl called Hushpuppy and her life in the Bathtub. A shanty town near a levee which separates them from the consumerism & mechanical world. I am no film critic but I would say go and see it, it brought a tear to my eye, was humorous, loving and a celebration of life. The New York Times are, so have a read here if you want to know more. Please don't, however, take into the account the comparable to 'Tree of Life' with Brad Pitt, that was a rubbish movie if I have ever seen one!

Coco-loco

Pure Fiji coconut milk soap

My housemate won Employee of the year, lucky her got a trip to Fiji. She kindly brought me back some of this Pure Fiji coconut milk soap. It is amazing, just incase you wanted a visual of me in the shower! It got me thinking how coconut mad I have become, while I was toasting desiccated coconut to put onto my cooked apple last night. Coconut Ice-cream (Radio Mexico)? Coconut water? Holidays with Coconut trees? Yes please!

Pretty in Pastel

Last week I bought myself a new mint knit jumper, to throw on at night over T-shirts as the weather warms up. Little did I know I started a love affair. I had difficulties taking it off to wash after wearing it all weekend! Pastels make you feel sweet & embrace the feelings of spring, fun & fresh. And hey, if See By Chloe is including them then pastels must be cool!

Amongst the Gardiner's & in the Field

The best way to start a Saturday morning is with breakfast and there is nothing better then trying a new breakfast spot. This Saturday morning lead us to Gardiner & Field a 4 week old revamped Milk Bar. We only had to wait for them to clear a table and we were seated. A friendly bustling place with a variety of customers in Armadale. Breakfast was satisfying, spiced Quinoa pumpkin and chickpea fritters with flatbread, spiced yoghurt and poached eggs. I will be back to try the rhubarb and strawberry french toasted tortillas!

So Many Things to Learn

First blog post.... I am going to start with things I have learnt this week & hope that this sets the tone for my blog!

"All the world's a stage, and all the men & women are merely players"

After watching my cousin perform in the play "As You Like it" by William Shakespeare. I learnt that Shakespeare should not be tinkered with, especially if it involves year 9s and a 70s theme to the play. He did do an excellent job though - best narrator around!

Victoria Beckham SS13

Great for Australians as we are now in Spring, New York Fashion week has just concluded! In my eyes Victoria Beckham can do no wrong, her show just proved she is no longer just a Spice Girl but a lust worthy designer label.

Seriously, Love Yourself!

Although still on the eternal quest for love, the past has taught me that without loving yourself nobody can love you, as much as you want them to. Lucky for me though as I have the ultimate - a twin.

Flowers in my Kitchen

This is a picture that makes me happy, colours of spring & fresh flowers. There is no better way to brighten up your home then with colourful flowers.
